Israeli D9R Armored Bulldozer

Diorama with Meng SS-010, 1/35 scale

This is a simple diorama that features an Israeli D9R armored bulldozer with slat armor.

For the bulldozer I used the Meng SS-010, a massive kit with high quality parts.
There are a few details that need fixing during assembly, but nothing serious.
I got a lot of helpful tips from these two discussions on the KitMaker forum:

I assembled the model straight out of the box; the only modification I made, based on what I read in the KitMaker Forum, was to separate the front and rear transmission sections and make the distance between the two parts adjustable, so I could set the correct track tension.

Patience is essential when assembling the tracks.

Pay close attention to the slat armor supports, which, in some cases, are very thin.

Interiors are wonderful, it’s a shame they are hardly visible after installing the slat armor.

For the ground of the diorama I used “Terrain Sandy Desert” by AK Interactive (p/n AK8022) and rubble from Custom Dioramics.

Both for the ground and the bulldozer I used pigments by AMMO, a mix of “sand”, “rubble, “North Africa dust” and “brick dust”.
It was my first experience with pigments; learning how to use them was quick and I’m very happy with the result.

To complete the diorama I added three figures, taken from the “IDF Infantry Set” by Meng (p/n HS-004).
As you can see, painting figures is not my best skill; nevertheless I thought that a few figures were a necessary completation for this diorama.

By the way, I have only used three of the four figures in the Meng set, the rest is for sale; contact me in case you are interested.
