US Special Forces
Tacoma Pickup

Diorama with MenG VS-002, 1/35 scale

This is a diorama built around a US Special Forces Tacoma pickup.

It was fun to build it and it was also a breath of fresh air for my shelf as I had used up a lot of boxes that had been sitting there for too long.

For the pickup I used the “Pick Up w/Equipment” model by Meng (p/n VS-002) a kit that wasn’t easy to find in the market. Perhaps it is out of sale because Meng introduced a new “Pickup Set” (p/n VS-007) that includes two vehicles, one Tacoma and one Hilux.

To make the Meng model more similar to the Special Forces vehicles that
I have seen in various pictures of Special Forces pickups used during OEF, I designed and 3D printed two add-ons:
– front protective bumper
– rear cargo cage
both are available at Priamide Models.

Figures are from:
Master Box (p/n MB35200) “Somewhere on Our Planet. Sharing a Smoke”
Trumpeter (p/n 00429) “Modern US Soldiers – Logistic Supply Team”
